Turnpike Acupuncture Clinic
Acupuncture is part of an ancient and sophisticated form of medical treatment which originated in China but has increasingly spread throughout the world.

Keir McNamara Acupuncturist
Keir completed his Acupuncture Studies with the College of Integrative Acupuncture in Galway in 2006 and has been working at the clinic since. He has recently completed courses in Tung acupuncture, an ancient divergent form of acupuncture that developed in Tawain.
What can acupuncture do for you?
Acupuncture points are believed to stimulate the central nervous system. This, in turn, releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord, and brain. These biochemical changes may stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical and emotional well-being.

Health and Well-Being
Our health is affected by many factors including environment, location, support network, and lifestyle. In this day and age, focusing on one's own well being has never been more important.
Relieve Work Related Stress
It’s easy to get caught up being busy with work and day-to-day life. Taking time out to focus on yourself is crucial and we want to provide a comfortable relaxing environment for exactly that.
Patient Safety
The initial consultation can last up to 60 minutes. A detailed medical case history is taken, along with detailed analysis of the tongue and pulse (the main diagnostic tools in Chinese medicine). The entire proceedings are safeguarded by total confidentiality.
Subsequent treatment sessions will last from anything between twenty minutes up to an hour. Practitioners usually see patients once a week or once a fortnight.
All acupuncture needles are single use, pre-sterilised, disposable needles. Consequently patients can be confident that no infection can be transmitted. The use of acupuncture and TCM in the hands of fully qualified practitioner is safe
and free of any harmful side-effects.
Testimonials
The treatment was 30-40 minutes long and you are in a nice warm quiet room, so totally relaxed for the duration of your treatment. For people who are nervous about needles while you are talking to Keir or Mary about why you are in the clinic in the first place, the needles are in without feeling anything only pressure. They are brilliant with children too. I have been to Keir & Mary McNamara on numerous occasions for acupuncture for sinus & migraine and I would highly recommend them. I don't like needles but the relief I got after my 1st session was brilliant so rather than take tablets I would recommend this clinic in turnpike. My son at the age of 2 years developed Asthma and he was put on a preventative inhaler by our GP but since going to Keir he has not used an inhaler of any kind and he is now a healthy 14 year old, never on antibiotics.”
